How To Get A Loan

Rescoring the Right Credit Repair

The sad truth is that more credit-repair companies can not back their promises. For example you can not raise your credit score by 100 points overnight. This is not possible. But if your credit score is too low, so you must be qualified for a mortgage – and a larger number of U.S. citizens find themselves in this situation, according to a recent study by credit score FICO provider – there is a legitimate credit repair solution that could help: Rapid rescoring. It is a way to improve your score, easily, in a short time.
Rapid Rescoring
The Chicago Daily Herald newspaper recently wrote a feature story about rapid rescoring and how it can help credit-challenged borrowers improve their credit scores. It works like this: You find a savvy mortgage broker or loan officer who gets your credit file into a rapid rescoring program performed by a credit reporting agency. These agencies then make direct changes to the information in your credit files. In such a program, the credit reporting agency will quickly fix any documented errors in your credit file. It will also add information that could improve your score. According to the Daily Herald story, credit reporting agencies can even identify the steps that you can take to immediately boost your score. The Daily Herald story quoted one credit official who said that most credit rescorings take three to five days to complete and cost anywhere from $90 to $200.

Not a Huge Jump
The only problem with a rescoring, besides its cost, is that the average boost to consumers’ credit scores is not a huge one. The Daily Herald quotes Mary Flynn, president of Credit Communications, Inc., who said that most rescorings increase credit scores by 25 to 32 points. This might help borrowers whose credit scores are at 610 or so. The extra boost can push their scores over the 620 limit that the majority of conventional mortgage lenders require that their clients have to qualify for a mortgage loan.
For More Serious Problems
If you have a more serious credit problem – say your credit score is 599 or lower –a rescoring might not be much help. Instead, you need to engage in serious credit repair. This requires patience and commitment. Basically, you’ll have to change your negative spending habits. You’ll have to stop racking up large amounts of credit card debt. And you’ll need to pay all your bills on time every month. Doing these two things will gradually raise your credit score. This takes time, though. If your credit score is too weak, you may have to wait a year or more before applying for mortgage or other loans.
